Bangladesh’s first cloud data center is called Meghna Cloud

Gennext Technologies and Bangladesh Data Center Company Limited (BDCCL) have inked a contract to establish Meghna Cloud, Bangladesh’s first cloud data center.

A news release states that this collaborative venture will fall under the “Made in Bangladesh Cloud” concept, which will allow for the storage of national data on domestic servers. The government may save money on foreign exchange purchases and the use of cloud computing by not relying on foreign data storage facilities.

The new regional data center in Bangladesh may offer services to both public and commercial organizations. Also, according to the press release, Meghna Cloud will establish a brand-new Research and Development (R&D) Center that will comprise academic staff members from both public and private colleges as well as representatives from the country’s data center sector.

Touhidul Islam, chairman of Gennext Technologies, and Abu Sayeed Chowdhury, managing director of BDCCL, signed the contract. At the signing event, other representatives from both organizations were in attendance.
